How do they work?
Our Patch Servers are instant setup. As soon as you order one and the payment has been processed, our systems will automatically provision your server for you. This typically takes 5-10 minutes for the system to set everything up and you will receive your login details.
You will receive FTP details where you can login to the patch server and start uploading your game/app files. They are highly optimized servers so no other services are running. No PHP, no mailbox server, no SQL… nothing. Just pure Apache/Nginx and cache mirror magic to server your files as fast as possible!
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. You have a few options. You can use your own domain (or subdomain from your domain provider) and point it to your patch server, or you can register a domain with us (pick your own .com) or you can choose to use a free sub-domain.
If you want to use the free sub-domain option, please type in what you would want your sub-domain to look like and it’s available, you can have it for free.
If you want to register a domain name with us, you can do so along with your patch server order. Just follow the instructions and we’ll do the rest.

I have BIG updates and a LOT of users, am I ok to use one of these?
Our Patch Server packages above will accommodate most projects.
Whilst we have no ‘bandwidth limits’ per se, we do still have a fair usage policy. We only have that in place because the above packages are intended for small – medium/big projects.
It’s all about the math. If you have a 20GB initial install/update to push out and you have 5000 active users, that’s far too much resource usage and bandwidth for one of the above packages.
If this is the case, you will need to get one of our Dedicated Server options from here.
We please ask that if you have a massive project, either filesize/userbase or both, contact us first to make sure one of the Patch Server packages will accommodate your project. Our fair usage policy applies to all users and could end up seeing your account suspended if it utilizes too many resources.
